It Was The Best Of Runs, It Was The Worst Of Runs

On Friday, I was on fire. Amazing songs came up on Pandora, I felt awesome—light as a feather— and I was running so fast! I ran past a girl getting out of her car with 2 boxes of pizza. She looked at me and I looked at her. Then I turned around and said, “I wish I was eating those pizza’s right now!”

Running is harder than sitting on the couch eating pizza—at least for me it is. Sometimes I run just so that I can sit on the couch and eat pizza without feeling guilty. But every once in a while, I have the best run ever and for that one day, running is as easy as pie… {yum… apple pie…} and that’s enough to keep me going.

On the other hand, today my run sucked. My legs felt like lead. I ran slowww. Everything hurt. No good songs came up on my playlist. In fact, Pandora stopped mid hill… when I needed it most! I wanted to stop. I wanted to stop so bad. I think I could’ve walked faster than I ran the whole run at one point, but I just kept putting one foot in front of the other.

Today I didn’t go further then my last run. But I ran. I may have run slowly, but I was lapping everyone who was sitting on the couch. And for that, I feel great.

Go run. It might be your best run ever; or you might totally tank. But do like Nike and just do it!
