Have you seen the movie The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty yet? If so, just sit tight, this will relate to triathlon, I promise.
If not, drop whatever you’re doing and go see it ASAP because it is AWWWWWESOME.
The first thing this movie made me want to do is travel. The second thing it made me want to do is a triathlon.
I can 110% relate to Walter Mitty and just like him, I often let my fears and insecurities keep me from taking risks and trying new things.
But, after watching this movie and being incredibly inspired, Davey and I signed up for our 1st half-Ironman. Ahhhhh!!!! And just like the song Ground Control To Major Tom says in this trailer (0:44), we’re going to take our protein pills and put our helmets on and take a risk.
My challenge for you today is to take a risk.
Maybe (hopefully!) you’re inspired to do your first triathlon or to train for a longer distance triathlon. Do it. And if you’re still scared, do it scared.
The good thing about taking risks is that we become a bit braver as a result.
